انعدام الأمن في المجتمع العربي في إسرائيل

لجنة العدل والسلام، التابعة لمجلس رؤساء الكنائس الكاثوليكية في الأرض المقدسة، تقدم تعازيها لأهالي الضحايا التي سقطت أمس في يافة الناصرة، نتيجة للفلتان الأمني في المجتمع العربي في إسرائيل. وقد بلغ عدد الضحايا، حتى هذا اليوم، ٩٨ ضحية. نسأل الله لكم، أيها الإخوة، العزاء والصبر والقوة في الإيمان. ونطلب معكم تطبيق القانون وضمان الأمن للجميع، وعقاب المجرمين. لأن الأمن والطمأنينة حق لنا جميعًا.
أمام هذا العنف المتكرر، ترى لجنة العدل والسلام أنه من واجبها أن ترفع صوتها عاليًا واضحًا.
حان الوقت للسلطات الإسرائيلية أن تستفيق وتقوم بواجبها وتضمن الأمن للجميع في البلاد. منذ سنوات تعد بالمئات ضحايا الفلتان الأمني في إسرائيل في المجتمع العربي بسبب إهمال المسؤولين، وبسبب تراكم الأسلحة التي سمحت السلطات الإسرائيلية بها في أيدي بعض العناصر الإجرامية.
كل إنسان هو إنسان، اليهودي والعربي، وله الكرامة نفسها، والحقوق نفسها. بعد كل ما حدث، خذوا الإجراءات اللازمة اليوم، قبل غد، قبل أن تقع جريمة جديدة. لا وعود. بل عمل. اجمعوا الأسلحة المرخصة وغير المرخصة، وتعرفون حامليها وماذا يعملون بها. وعاقبوا المجرمين، مجرمي أمس وما قبل. أنتم المسؤول الأول عن الأمن أو انعدامه، سواء في المجتمع العربي أم الإسرائيلي.
        نرجو أن تسمع السلطات الإسرائيلية هذا النداء، فتقوم بواجبها، وتعمل وتتخذ الإجراءات اللازمة، فلا يبقي فيها قتلة، ولا عنف، ولا ضحايا. بل يكون كل إنسان فيها، العربي واليهودي، إنسانًا، كريمًا آمِنًا في مجتمعه، وسندًا واطمئنانًا لكل إخوته وأخواته.

The Justice and Peace Commission of the Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries in the Holy Land presents its condolences to the families of the victims of criminal violence who were murdered yesterday in Jaffa of Nazareth. This is a direct and tragic result of the ongoing lack of security within the Arab sector in Israel that resulted in 98 lives lost since the beginning of the year. We ask God, brothers and sisters, to comfort you, give you patience and strengthen your faith. With you, we demand the application of law and preservation of order for all citizens and the arrest of criminals. All of us have the right to security and tranquility.
The Justice and Peace Commission senses an obligation to say loudly and clearly:
The time is long overdue for the Israeli authorities to wake up, do their duty, and ensure the security of all the people in the country. Over the years, the victims of this criminal violence have been counted in their hundreds because of the lack of security in the Arab sector in Israel. The negligence of officials is certainly a principal cause but another is the accumulation of weapons that the Israeli authority has permitted to be put in the hands of certain criminal elements in society.
Every one of us is a human being, whether Jew or Arab. Each one has the same dignity and the same rights. After all that has happened, we demand that you take action today, before the next murder tomorrow. We want no more promises, simply action. Gather all the weapons, licensed and unlicensed; you know who carries them and what they do with them. Arrest the criminals, the criminals of yesterday's massacre and all the others too. You are those responsible for our security or lack thereof, whether in the Arab sector or the Jewish one.
We hope that you, the Israeli authorities, will listen, do your duty, act and take the necessary measures, so that there will be no more murders, no more violence, no more victims. Rather, we hope and pray, that every person, Arab and Jew, will be seen as a human being, a treasure for our society and a support for all his or her brothers and sisters.
